Sunday Snippets: November 20, 2011

Sunday

Welcome to Sunday Snippets. This is a weekly feature that allows you to take a quick peek at posts that I loved from my FAT TUESDAY carnival this past week. I’ll also summarize some posts from my blog from the past week. If you missed some or didn’t have time to read the whole post this “snippet” will give you the gist of it.

Here are some articles and recipes that I picked from FAT TUESDAY that really stood out for me. Each week I’ll be featuring some links from FAT TUESDAY so be sure to link up your best posts! If you are not a blogger, this is a place to connect with fascinating writings from all over the blogosphere!

This week we had so many wonderful selections it was really hard to choose… but here are a few of my favorites!

German Apple Pancake from Civilized Caveman. Just look at the photo…

DIY Herbal Cough and Cold Syrup from Frugally Sustainable. Great idea and it actually looks easy to do.

Cinnamon Apple Creamed (Hot) Cereal from Paleo Parents. I really like this idea for a hot cereal, something a little different!

Butternut Squash & Spinach Cannelloni (SCD & Veggie) from Gluten Free SCD & Veggie. This is a brilliant idea! You have to see what she does with leeks!

Lemon Cheesecake Mousse from Beyond the Peel. Again, a picture is worth a thousand words…

Lettuce Wraps with Herbed Chicken Salad and Pecans from Our Nourishing Roots. This would be great for a lunch with the girls!

Water Kefir Versus Kombucha from Common Sense Homesteading. A very detailed and interesting debate about which is best. I am just getting into Kombucha so this peaked my interest!

In addition, here are some posts from my blog this week that you may want to take a peek at…

Grain-Free Thanksgiving Stuffing

What’s In Your Honey? Issues around bees and honey.

Healthier School Lunches Lynched by Lobbyists. Low fat, low salt lunches wouldn’t really be healthier, but the point is the lobbyists put the kaboosh on any attempt to improve school lunches!

Farm To Consumer Legal Defense Fund Dinner at the Weston Price Conference. What fun we had a beautiful meal to boot!

Video/Recipe: Cocoa Butter Layer Cake. This is to die for and it is surprisingly easy!

Fat Tuesday November 13, 2011. A fabulous collection of the wisdom and great eats in the real food world this week.
