We have a right to know what is in our food! Are you fed up with food manufacturers hiding toxic ingredients in your food? Do you want to do something about it? Now is your chance! Don’t miss this golden opportunity to make a difference. If we all chip in, we can do this!
Now and for the future
Now is the window of opportunity to set this right. Many health advocates are behind this initiative because we just don’t know what genetically engineered foods will do to us, to our children and to their children. We know it will not be good.
Proposition 37 in California in November
The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act is simple: The initiative would simply require food sold in retail outlets to be labeled if it is produced through genetic engineering.
We now label nutrition facts
We now label foods with calorie and nutritional value information and most consumers use this information every day. The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act simply requires food producers to also label food that contains genetically engineered ingredients.
This will not bring up the price of food
The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act will have no cost impact on consumers or food producers. It simply adds a label to genetically engineered food.
In a recent poll, 93% of Californians said they would vote for Mandatory Labeling of Genetically Engineered Foods! If this initiative passes, it will be a huge step towards the transparency we deserve.
When you actually KNOW what is in your food, you can make the informed choice to avoid the potential health risks of GM food additives.
