Recipe: Avocado Ice Cream (SCD, GAPS, Paleo, AIP)

Even though it looks like pistachio ice cream, it is not. I was never a big fan of pistachio ice cream. I don’t even like pistachio nuts. If you’re like me, you will love this ice cream because it actually has nothing to do with pistachio nuts at all!

It’s made with avocado but you won’t even taste it! The ingredients include avocado, coconut cream (from the top of the coconut milk can), banana, honey and vanilla! Simple yet perfect for a healthy and delicious treat!



Recipe: Avocado Ice Cream (SCD, GAPS, Paleo, AIP)

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 12 minutes
  • Total Time: 22 minutes


  • 2 medium to large avocado
  • 2 medium ripe bananas
  • 1 – 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or powder
  • 3 Tbsp coconut cream from the top of the can (I like this one)
  • 1/4 tsp stevia (optiona – omit if AIP)


  1. Cut open and remove the pit from the avocado and add to the processor
  2. Add the ripe bananas
  3. Add the honey and coconut cream and process
  4. While the processor is running add the vanilla extract or powder
  5. Process until smooth
  6. Remove into a bowl and refrigerate until cold
  7. Add to an ice cream maker and process 10 – 12 minutes
  8. Serve immediately or store in a container in the freezer
