Paleo/Primal Diets
Both Paleo (from the work of Loren Cordain) and Primal (from the work of Mark Sisson) diets are based upon archeological information of what our ancestors ate while they were hunter/gatherers. This goes back way before the last 10,000 years when agriculture took hold. Therefore, these diets propose that our ancestors ate plenty of wild game and foraged vegetables.
The Paleo diet also asserts that dairy was not eaten. I personally disagree with this as there were many cultures that lived upon raw dairy as studied by Weston Price in his journey around the world.
The Primal diet does include raw dairy and plenty of coconut as well as the wild game, fish and poultry as does Paleo.
Many people are finding a great restoration of their health from following the concept proposed by the Paleo and Primal diets.

Rightly pointed out. Dairy was an essential part of diet of early hunter-gatherers. That was one reason they started domesticating animals.
