Giveaway: One Quart Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate! Two Winners!

Giveaway: One Quart Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate! Two Winners! post image

There are many healthy products generated from coconut. Coconut has been a staple for many cultures in the Tropics, India and Asia for thousands of years. In these cultures the entire coconut is used and products such as coconut water from young green coconuts, coconut oil and what we call coconut cream concentrate are widely used today.

Coconut cream concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in concentrated form. It is sometimes referred to as coconut butter, coconut manna or coconut spread. Tropical Traditions coconut cream concentrate contains no additives* (not even water). The dried coconut meat is ground very finely, giving it a creamy consistency due to its high fat content, much like other nut butters. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure coconut oil. Take note that this is a food, not a cooking oil.

How To Use Coconut Cream Concentrate

I use this product in many recipes. You can simply mix it with water to create coconut milk for recipes. I use it mixed with nut butters to add taste and fiber. It is a great ingredient for any dairy-free recipe that requires something to hold ingredients together like my Double Chocolate Raspberry Truffles or as a base for this absolutely delicious candy – my Raw Coco Nutty Bites.

I also use it my versatile Blueberry Coconut Pudding recipe. This can be eaten as a pudding, or mixed with water or coconut milk (made for water and coconut concentrate) to make a refreshing shake.

When my son was at sleep away camp I sent individual containers of this pudding along with him (Shake To Go recipe). The cooks at the camp kindly mixed it with water and ice and he had a refreshing mid day snack that had no additives (you know how bad institutional food can be!)

I also mix it with chocolate to make my Chocolate Icing or Frosting.

As you can see, there are a lot of ways to use this delicious coconut cream concentrate! However, most times I simply eat it off the spoon!

This coconut concentrate is of the highest quality and so is the coconut oi!

Note: Coconut cream concentrate is NOT an oil for cooking, however you can gently warm in in a double boiler or a pan at #2 heat. If you over heat it – it will burn so be careful when melting it.

It comes in the quart jar that is rather cumbersome. I gently warm the quart jar in the large bowl of hot water. When the oil on top melts, I empty it into my food processor and mix it and divide it into smaller pint jars for ease in handling. I order this product by the case so I always have plenty on hand!

Coconut oil is getting more popular and new companies are springing up with products. It’s important to know exactly where the oil is coming from, how it is prepared and what impact it is having on the community and environment.

The coconut products and particularly the oil from Tropical Traditions meets all the high standards I have set. Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is certified organic according to strict USDA requirements. It is hand-made in the Philippines the traditional way.
